This generator alternator conversion kit replaces original generator and regulator.
The compact 17 amp high output alternator measures 3-1/4" long.
This conversion kit has high power output, 17 amps @ 1000 rpms.
12 volt electronic regulator, for use with alternator conversion kits.
Features a electronic regulator in a compact housing, mounted on a 32E relay base.
Billet housing for strength and accurate alignment, and a stress proof shaft which is stronger than stock.
The kit includes a black alternator with black regulator (instructions not included).
Kit cannot be used with mini battery (12N55A-3B).

Fits Models:
Kit can be used on 1965-1983 XL and 1941-1969 FL models if the generator bolt holes in the engine case are drilled to 5/16".
Alternators have 5/16" x 24 mount holes for screws. you should convert 12 volt generators with 5/16-24 thread to 1/4-24 thread to accept early mount bolt set.

Factory bolts do not fit

I had to replace the factory regulator bold because they were far too short for the regulator that was purchased. Knowing this going forward, maybe your company should consider sending bolts with certain parts just in case. Other than that the parts fit and work as they are supposed to work.

Great product

Is what I expected and it does work. Don’t make any additional voltage at idle but once you rev it jumps. Make sure to buy the seal for the cover.
